SRAM | pART PROJECT during Velo Village Salt Spring
Artists transform bike parts into art. The art is auctioned off. The
proceeds help people in need through World Bicycle Relief. Welcome to
the SRAM pART PROJECT, making art that makes a difference.
World Bicycle Relief serves people in underdeveloped regions of the world who suffer from lack of access to health care, education, and economic opportunity. With a bicycle you can travel four times farther, carry five times more, and save up to three hours a day in travel time (based on a 10-mile commute). So you can get to a doctor, to school, or to work faster and more safely. Doors closed by distance are now opened, as is the way to a better life.

During the Velo Village festivities on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia (from June 21-23, 2012), Salt Spring Island artists will be connecting city cyclists with
their country cousins. Twenty-four Salt Spring Island painters,
sculptors, weavers, and master craftsmen, are making Art from SRAM
parts. In June the works they create will be displayed and auctioned off with all proceeds from auctions being donated to World Bicycle Relief. Auction will be happening at ArtSpring on June 22nd.
